Convert PDFs to Word in three steps

The demo runs OCR, reconstructs detected document structure, and creates an editable Word document.

Upload your PDF

Choose 1 file for your one-page demo. For a PDF, select the page you want to convert.

2

Choose the output language

Keep the source language or translate the Word document to a supported translation language.

3

Download and review Word

Open the .docx file and compare important text, paragraphs, lists, and tables with the source PDFs.

Works with digital and scanned PDFs

AlgoOCR renders both digital and scanned PDF pages to high-resolution page images and applies vision-based OCR, so embedded text layers and raster scans follow the same robust structure reconstruction.

Use this converter for everyday digital PDFs, reports, and mixed documents where you need an editable Word document with preserved tables and layout.

Dedicated Scanned Documents

PDF to Word FAQs

Common questions about OCR, Word output, document structure, translation, and demo limits.

Can I choose which PDF pages to convert?

Yes. For PDF input, choose a From and To page range after upload. Image input is a single page. The free demo converts at most one page; Dashboard conversions use available Page Credits.

Which output formats are available?

Convert supported PDFs or images to Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx), or Markdown (.md). Each dedicated converter page has the input and output format named in its title.

Which output page sizes are available?

For Word and Excel, choose Automatic (match source), A3, A4, A5, A6, B4 (JIS), B5 (JIS), Letter, Legal, Tabloid / Ledger, Statement / Half Letter, Executive, or Folio. Markdown has no page size setting.

Which page orientations are available?

For Word and Excel, choose Automatic, Portrait, or Landscape. Markdown has no page orientation setting.

Which output fonts are available?

For Word, choose Auto (Default), Mangal, Kokila, DVBW-TTSurekhEN, Kruti Dev 100, Times New Roman, Arial, Calibri, Georgia, Verdana, or Book Antiqua. Excel and Markdown do not offer an output font selector.

Can I include detected images?

Yes. Include detected images is on by default. Keep it on to attempt to place detected logos, signatures, stamps, and other figures in the output, or turn it off for text and document structure only.

Which translation languages are supported?

Choose None to keep the original language, or translate to English, Arabic, Bengali, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Dutch, French, German, Greek, Gujarati, Hebrew, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Korean, Malayalam, Marathi, Persian, Russian, Spanish, Tamil, Telugu, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu, Vietnamese, Zulu.

Which PDF files can I upload?

You can upload PDF files up to 20 MB. This converter accepts PDF input only.

Does the converter create an editable Word document?

Yes. Each conversion creates a downloadable .docx file containing editable text and detected document structure.

Does it work with both digital and scanned PDFs?

Yes. AlgoOCR renders both digital and scanned PDF pages to high-resolution page images and applies vision-based OCR and document structuring.

Does it work with PDFs in other languages?

AlgoOCR automatically detects languages across documents, including English, Indic scripts, and RTL languages. For language-specific workflows, explore the PDF to Word by language directory.

Will paragraphs, lists, and tables be preserved?

AlgoOCR uses detected document structure to represent paragraphs, lists, and tables where possible. Complex layouts may still need review.

Can I convert more than one PDF?

The free demo accepts 1 file and converts 1 page. To process several files together, verify your account and use purchased Page Credits in Dashboard.

Will the Word document look exactly like the source?

Word keeps editable content and detected structure, but fixed layout, spacing, typography, and positioned elements may be represented differently.

Can I upload images on this converter?

No. This converter accepts PDF files only. For image files, use the Image to Word converter.
