Odia script and orthographic characteristics

Key orthographic features, vowel matras, and consonant conjuncts (juktakshara) in Odia Word conversion.

Curved canopy arches & vowel matras

Odia script (ଓଡ଼ିଆ, Unicode U+0B00–U+0B7F) is distinguished by curved upper canopy arches (developed for palm-leaf inscription) and surrounding vowel signs (କା, କି, କୀ, କୁ, କେ, କୋ) that wrap around the base consonant.

Consonant conjuncts (juktakshara)

Odia consonant clusters or juktakshara (such as କ୍ଷ, ଜ୍ଞ, ଶ୍ର, ତ୍ର, ନ୍ତ and ପ୍ର) combine fused primary shapes with subscript consonant forms that require crisp scan contrast for accurate recognition.

Odia numerals & tabular records

Administrative notifications, gazettes, and schedules pair Odia digits (୦, ୧, ୨, ୩, ୪, ୫, ୬, ୭, ୮, ୯) with standard decimal numbers, preserved as editable Unicode codepoints.

Preserved Table Geometry

Recognized tables in Odia PDFs are reconstructed as editable Word (.docx) tables, preserving column alignments, headers, and cell boundaries.

Conjunct & Matra Reconstruction

High-resolution visual analysis preserves consonant conjuncts (juktakshara), dependent vowel signs, and native numerals (୦–୯) alongside paragraph flow.
