Bengali script and orthographic characteristics

Key orthographic features, vowel matras, and consonant conjuncts (juktakkhor) in Bengali Word conversion.

Headstroke (matra) & vowel signs

Bengali script (বাংলা, Unicode U+0980–U+09FF) connects letters along a continuous upper horizontal headstroke (matra) with surrounding dependent vowel signs (কা, কি, কী, কু, কে, কো) that require clean scan resolution.

Consonant conjuncts (juktakkhor)

Frequent consonant clusters called juktakkhor (such as ক্ষ, জ্ঞ, শ্র, ক্র, দ্ধ and ক্ল) stack or fuse glyphs vertically and horizontally. High-contrast inputs keep multi-consonant ligatures intact.

Bengali numerals & punctuation

Bengali documents use native Eastern Nagari digits (০, ১, ২, ৩, ৪, ৫, ৬, ৭, ৮, ৯) alongside danda punctuation (।), which AlgoOCR transcribes into standard Unicode codepoints.

Standard Unicode Bengali Output

AlgoOCR transcribes recognized text into standard Unicode Bengali characters (U+0980–U+09FF), ensuring compatibility across modern Word processors without legacy font encodings.

Preserved Table Geometry

Recognized tables in Bengali images are reconstructed as editable Word (.docx) tables, preserving column alignments, headers, and cell boundaries.

Conjunct & Matra Reconstruction

High-resolution visual analysis preserves consonant conjuncts (juktakkhor), dependent vowel signs, and native numerals (০–৯) alongside paragraph flow.
